Most people don’t fail because they’re unmotivated.
They fail because the way they set goals is broken.
In a recent conversation, a potential client said something that stopped me mid-note:
“I’ve worked with coaches before… but I never really knew what the target was.”
And that’s the problem, isn’t it?
People set out to hit big, meaningful goals—million-dollar years, buying the dream house, launching the thing, building the life.
But how do you get there?
How do you move from intention to execution without just throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks?
Because let’s be clear:
“Spray and pray” is not a strategy.
It’s a stress response disguised as ambition.
Whether you’re a high-performing manager, a startup founder, or a senior executive—your calendar is already overflowing. Add vague annual goals and disconnected daily tasks, and suddenly you’re buried under the weight of your own ambition.
This is where my Mountain Method comes in.
It’s a brain-based approach to executive and high performance coaching that finally connects strategy to action and gives your goals the traction they’ve been missing.
I coach in 90-day sprints for a reason.
It’s long enough to build real progress, but short enough to keep urgency alive.
You’d be amazed what can happen in just three months when the goal is clear, the path is aligned, and you stop wasting time on the wrong work.
Give your brain a target.
Give your calendar a plan.
Then watch what happens in 90 days.
Why Traditional Goal Setting Fails High Performers
Let’s be honest: SMART goals aren’t that smart when you’re already overwhelmed.
To-do lists don’t help when you can’t see the bigger picture.
And vision boards? Cute, but they don’t come with an execution plan.
All these things can be part of the plan, but they can’t be the foundation of the plan. We have to start from how YOUR BRAIN functions and work inside out versus the norm of outside in.
We have to get YOU believing that what you want to accomplish is possible and make your brain feel like it is safe or you will continue to self-sabotage in high-performance fashion of: “My plate is always full”, “I have no time”, “I’m burnt out”. Not because any of that is not true, but because we are focusing on the wrong tasks that take us to the wrong target.
Take this example:
An executive client came to me convinced she had a time management problem. Her calendar was back-to-back, her to-do list was never-ending, and she couldn’t figure out why she felt so behind—even though she was checking off tasks like crazy.
But once we looked closer, it wasn’t a time issue.
It was a target issue.
She was spending all her energy on meetings and metrics that didn’t move her closer to her real goal: leading with vision, not just reacting to noise.
So we stopped.
Recalibrated.
Identified her Mountain goal—and then rebuilt her weeks from the inside out using the Boulder > Rock > Pebble method.
In 90 days, she was working fewer hours, leading more confidently, and hitting targets she’d been spinning her wheels on for months.
High performers and executive leaders need more than inspiration—they need integration.
That’s why I coach with a method that aligns vision, action, and momentum—across every level of performance.
Here’s How the The 90-Day MAP™ Works
The 90-Day MAP™ is my signature goal-setting framework designed for high performers and executive leaders who are done spinning their wheels.
It stands for:
-
Momentum – because progress without movement isn’t progress at all
-
Action – because clarity without execution is just theory
-
Progress – because small wins, stacked intentionally, drive big results
This isn’t a fluffy mindset model.
This is a performance system—built to rewire how you think, realign what you do, and reclaim how you show up in your work, your leadership, and your life.
When we revisit this framework every 90-days, we find real success that we can measure.
Step 1: The Mountain (Your Big Vision)
This is the long-term goal—the 12–24 month outcome that matters to you. Whether it’s scaling your business, stepping into a new leadership role, or finding work-life alignment, this is the mountain you’re climbing.
We define it clearly—because executive and high-performance coaching without clarity is just chaos in a suit.
Step 2: The Boulder (Your 60–90 Day Focus)
You don’t summit a mountain in a day. You reach checkpoints.
So every quarter, we choose one Boulder—a key milestone that moves you meaningfully closer to the summit. This becomes the anchor for your actions, your calendar, and your performance.
This is where most coaching stops—vague goals, no timeline. I don’t let that fly.
Step 3: The Rocks (Your Domino Priorities)
Each Boulder is broken into Rocks: domino objectives that are specific, measurable, and brain-friendly. These are the things that build real momentum, not busywork.
Step 4: The Pebbles (Your Daily Commitments)
These are the micro-moves that stack progress day by day.
They’re the habits, the follow-ups, the decisions you stop deferring.
Because when everything is a priority, nothing moves. But with Pebbles? You start to roll.
Why the The 90-Day MAP™ Works (When Most Goal Setting Doesn’t)
This method is rooted in behavioral science and executive function support based on work by early agile methodologies and refined by multiple leaders in the high-performance space:
-
Clarity reduces cognitive load. You don’t have to think about what matters every day—it’s already defined.
-
90-day windows align with how the brain stays motivated. It’s long enough to see progress, short enough to stay urgent.
-
Breaking goals into steps activates the brain’s reward systems. You feel momentum—not just pressure. (And we celebrate together! Don’t worry I teach you how to stop and do that too.)
Most high performance coaching fails because it either lives in theory or drowns in tactics. This bridges both.
And for executive coaching clients? It ensures your strategy doesn’t just stay on slides—it shows up in results.
